Choose a system that fits the floor

Existing floor construction, available height and the planned finish guide the choice. Depending on the property, the options can include a dry-build system or pipes milled into a suitable screed. These are different installation methods, not interchangeable solutions for every floor.

Review insulation and heating demand

Insulation beneath the heated floor helps limit downward heat loss. The required heat output depends on the room and the building. Underfloor heating is not automatically suitable as the only heat source, and installation alone does not guarantee lower energy costs.

Coordinate the installation and floor finish

Agree the pipe layout, controls and connection requirements before work begins. Check that the selected floor covering is suitable for the heating system. Preparation, drying where relevant, testing and the start-up procedure need to follow the chosen system’s requirements.
