Choose the tiled floor as part of the complete floor plan, including adjoining rooms and doorways. Vlas Construction includes floor-tile installation within substantial home renovations in The Hague and approximately 50 km around the city. Agree the layout and preparation before ordering the tiles.
Plan tile size, joints and layout
Review the proposed tile size and laying direction against the room dimensions. Discuss where cut tiles will fall, how joints will align and which grout colour is intended. An agreed layout helps make those choices explicit rather than leaving them until installation.
Check the floor build-up and finished level
Establish which existing layers will remain and what preparation has been allowed for. Include thresholds and transitions to other coverings. If heating beneath the floor is part of the renovation, coordinate the selected tiling products and work sequence with that part of the project.
Agree edges and handover
Specify visible edges and connections to neighbouring finishes. Ask which preparation, laying and grouting work is included, and follow the specified material instructions for use of the completed floor. Share drawings and tile samples to discuss the scope. Wall tiling needs its own agreed scope; isolated broken-tile repairs are outside this service.
