Choose the appearance and laying direction
Review a sample alongside the planned wall colours and fixed furniture. Agree the direction of the flooring and where it will stop or continue between rooms. Record the selected product rather than assuming that every laminate design has the same installation requirements.
Assess the base and proposed underlay
Discuss which existing layers will remain, what preparation is needed and which underlay is proposed. Include the finished floor level at doors and thresholds in that discussion. If the renovation includes floor heating, agree the requirements for the selected flooring before ordering.
Specify edges, thresholds and completion
Mark transitions to other coverings and agree how skirting, door frames and exposed edges will be finished. Clarify whether removing the existing covering and disposing of it are included. Share your renovation drawings and preferred samples to discuss the scope. This is new installation within a renovation, not a small floor-repair service.
